RE: What is the advantage ?

that generator doesn't provide 30 amps so it wont even give you the maximum power from a 15 amp outlet. 1000/120= 8.3 so your getting8.3 amps when pulling max from that generator, a 15 amp outlet will work perfectly. the only advantage i see to this that's not already mentioned is if you generator can produce 30+ amps but doesn't have a 30 amp and has 2 or more 15's, you can draw 30 even though that outlet doesn't exist on the generator.

RE: !!!ATTENTION ALL TC OWNERS!!!

99 Adventurer 810ws 2300lb fully loaded 8 foot 10 inch floor length, short bed version. No slides. Likes: weight to size ratio, didn't cost me a fortune (bought used about 9 months ago). Bathroom size for camper size. that i can sit up in cab over with out being in the roof vent. that i put twin beds up top so i can get up early and read in the dinette while my 14 year old sleeps in. The fridge size. Big U dinette. Over head cabinet. Tons of storage. That i can walk past my son (going opposite directions) inside with out moving into the dinette area or letting one person by. that it rides nice on my 2500 gmc w/ airbags. that it doesn't kill my mpg. black tank size. dual Lp tanks. i can fit 4 bikes inside the floor area. basement. Dislikes: Small tank sizes (20 Fw, 5 Hw heater, 8 gray, black is good at 15). no built in generator or place for one. filon (sp?) siding. battery compartment only big enough for 1 g24 battery, (though i think this is changed in newer models). no bumper (again available on newer models). small basement. cant have 2 30lb tanks. 2 way (ac and Lp) and no Dc. not pre-wired for stereo or solar. bathroom is to short for me to stand up in but my son (5ft 8in) is fine so only a loss to 1/2 the campers and it doesn't apply when i need the throne. Minimal heat ducting. 5 gal not 6 gal HW heater (seams weird to me). odd plumbing, no idea what it is, hasn't mattered yet. its not PEX. Needs more windows, though i think it has more than most. the fact that i bought it needing to be recalked, which is more work than it seems. i think that's it. to me the likes WAY out weight the dislikes. i love it.

Shunted Battery Monitors

Im considering getting a trimetric 2021 rv. how does it know when its actually charged? i realize all the wires go through the shunt and this is connect to the monitor and then it tells you % full and more things but if the camper is charging the battery how does it know when its actually full, can it read voltage also? please explained theses things from square one im confused. Thanks.

RE: Is My Battery Big Enough For Inverter?

the 175 watt is the cigarette lighter socket type and is lets in a socket but that socket has an on/off switch and is only on wen used. the reason i can go so long on a g24 if i have to "parasitic" load. all sensors work of their own batteries, the fridge only has dc draw when lighting (it dosnt have a thermometer in it it just consistently runs at the set flame setting), this was summer so no heater, and im inside the camper about 3 hours every 24 hours (except sleeping which has no load in our case) Also lights are almost never used except late at night, due to living in the land of the midnight (sometimes longer) sun. Our main draw is cooking exhaust fan and the HW heater thermometer so basically none, yet!

RE: Dalton Highway

having a truck camper should i add say 1 inch of dense blue foam to the truck bed to help with vibration of the camper?

Is My Battery Big Enough For Inverter?

So im considering getting a 700 watt inverter (msw) from Amazon made by xantrex. It would be used sparingly, mostly by a 250watt blender for short periods once every few days. I have 1 group 24 battery that i run off of and I can go 3 days 2 nights on a 50% discharge. This is in one spot and no incoming power. I don't plan on upgrading batteries until this one dies. I will however be buying a cheep 2 stroke 1000w generator for longer trips. I dont want to have to get it ou and start it up for a smothie EARLIE in the morning when it might not even be alowed in Forrest Service parks. my question is should i be concerned about my battery size and this inverter? Also i have a small 175 watt that Ive been charging cell phones with, when pulling say 50 watts will the 175 watt use less power than the 700 watt? Next which size wire, fuse(if needed) and anything else not said here i need? I will be hooking it directly to the battery. Also, it has an off/on switch will it cut off all draw or should i put my own in so i know there is none? it wont be hooked up to all the outlets, just secured to the wall in the kitchen where stuff can be plugged into it.
